The major focus of the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor is the coordination of activities of the academic division and certain administrative sub-divisions of the University. The Office is concerned with developing and expanding the University’s interests academically through teaching, learning, research and extension services.
The following Units/Offices work under the office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor:
- The Research, Innovation and Consultancy Unit (RICU);
- The Deans and Heads of Department of the various Schools;
- The Academic Planning and Quality Assurance Unit;
Responsibilities
Key activities performed by the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor:
- Coordinate strategies for developing academic programmes;
- Ensure efficient utilization of academic facilities for teaching and learning;
- Provide support to researchers and safeguard the conduct of research;
- Organise workshops, training and seminars for faculty and staff;
- Spearhead collaborations/partnerships with organisations;
- Communicate with external partners in order to promote the University’s brand;
- Deputises the Vice-Chancellor:
- Any other assignment sanctioned by the Vice-Chancellor.
