The seminar aimed to empower students with practical knowledge and hands-on skills in identifying, accessing, evaluating, and effectively using credible academic information resources. Key areas covered included strategies for locating scholarly materials, effective use of library databases and electronic resources, ethical use of information, and proper referencing techniques. The University Library organised a seminar on the 28th of January 2026 titled “Research Resources Literacy: Tools and Techniques for Students’ Project Work” as part of its ongoing efforts to equip students, particularly third- and final-year students, with essential research skills to support their academic project work.

The seminar was organised in collaboration with the School of Sustainable Development and was attended by over one hundred students, demonstrating strong interest in building research capacity across the University.

The session was facilitated by the Head of the University Library, Dr George Clifford Yamson, with support from Ms Catherine Adom and Mr Michael Anaman Mensah, and was moderated by Dr Ebenezer Atter. The facilitators engaged participants through interactive discussions and practical demonstrations, creating an enabling learning environment.

Through the seminar, participants benefited from improved confidence in conducting independent academic research, enhanced ability to use scholarly resources efficiently, and better preparation for final-year project work and academic writing.
